Central Illinois Food Allergy Network (CIFAN) is a support and educational network for parents of children with food allergies. CIFAN formed in July 2006 after combining the efforts of several parents who felt that a food allergy group was needed in Central Illinois.
CIFAN is focused on accomplishing three general goals:
- Educating members about living with food allergies by bringing in professional speakers, providing print and web resources, and managing an active listserv;
- Providing outreach services to members of the community interested in safely integrating children with food allergies into their activities (e.g., daycares, park districts, restaurants);
- Providing a social network for parents and families of children with food allergies (e.g., alternative Halloween, Christmas party).
CIFAN’s meetings are open to the general public, and new members are always welcome. We have quarterly meetings and social events throughout the year. Find our calendar of events here.
